Call for Proposals

The sec4dev Conference & Bootcamp is a Vienna-based security event which targets one very specific group: people involved in software development. It is our mission to bring together the best industry professionals, thus having a sustainable and positive impact on the software security landscape.

Made for the makers

We focus on practical, applicable, hands-on, and security-related contents for folks involved in software development. Apart from technical aspects, sec4dev also covers organizational, legal, and process-related topics in order to reach one goal: making security a first-class citizen in the world of software development.

The general audience of the sec4dev Conference & Bootcamp is people involved in software development:

  • Software developers

General requirements

The general focus of the conference is applied software security. Make sure to give the audience something to take away and apply in their day-to-day work in software development. Visionary talks about the future of secure software development are welcome, as soon as there is also something concrete to take away.

Requirements for proposals

Talks

Talks are 45 minutes in length including questions. When proposing a talk, make sure to include the following:

  • CV of the speaker
  • Contact details
  • Language of the talk (preferably English, German is also possible)
  • Abstract (100 words)
  • 3—5 key take-aways for the audience (these will not be published beforehand)
  • Whether you agree to the recording of your talk and the publishing of the slides and video

Bootcamps

Bootcamps are two days in length. When proposing a bootcamp, make sure to include the following:

  • CV of the speaker
  • Contact details
  • Language of the bootcamp (preferably English, German is also possible)
  • Abstract (100 words)
  • Requirements for participants (hardware and software)
  • Key take-aways for the audience (these will not be published beforehand)

  • Submission deadline: November 17, 2019
  • Acceptance notification until: December 15, 2019
  • Bootcamps: 24th and 25th February 2020
  • Talks: 26th and 27th February 2020
